How you can help Pakistan fight polio with this $4 million gift

New York, US –  On October 1, 2017, the US government will announce a $4 billion gift to Pakistan to combat the crippling disease.

The announcement comes just months after the US, India, China and several other countries agreed to increase their funding to combat polio by $500 million.

The new US aid will come in the form of a $100 million fund that will be dedicated to Pakistan’s public health system.

The announcement comes a day after President Donald Trump announced that he will travel to Pakistan in November to visit the country to address the crisis.

Trump said that he is also planning to meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and other key officials to discuss the situation in Pakistan.

The US has not announced how much of the $4.3 billion in US aid would go towards the polio eradication program, but US officials said that the remaining $3 billion would be used to address polio-related infrastructure needs.

The Trump administration has long said that it is prepared to spend as much as $1 trillion to tackle the disease, with the money allocated for research and development.

However, Trump’s administration has also expressed concern over Pakistan’s refusal to implement mandatory vaccination programs, as well as the lack of progress on addressing the spread of the disease.

“The Trump Administration is committed to ensuring that Pakistan respects the rule of law and fully implements the World Health Organization (WHO) vaccine schedule and recommendations,” a White House official told Business Insider.

“This includes ensuring that polio vaccine supplies are not diverted from the polio response effort, including by the Pakistan Health Ministry, which has not implemented the WHO vaccine schedule.”

Pakistan has been facing severe polio outbreaks since 2016, which began with an outbreak in the southern region of Sindh, which is home to around 90% of Pakistan’s 1.1 billion people.

The disease has claimed around 1,100 lives in Pakistan, which was one of the hardest hit countries in the world.

Since the beginning of this year, more than 500,000 people have been confirmed to have contracted polio.

The Trump administration said that more than half of those cases have been caused by the vaccine, but a large number of other cases are believed to be linked to vaccine-preventable infections.

Read more about the pandemic: “We are committed to providing the Pakistanis with the tools and support to combat this pandemic and continue to work with the Pakistani people to address these challenges,” a spokesperson for the US embassy in Islamabad said.

“The Trump Department of State is working closely with the Government of Pakistan to implement the UN polio campaign.

We also welcome the US commitment to support the Government in addressing the challenges posed by this pandemics pandemic.”
