Israeli soldiers kill Palestinian in Gaza after shelling

An Israeli soldier opened fire on a Palestinian teenager, killing him and wounding several others in the Gaza Strip, according to witnesses and witnesses to the incident.

The incident came hours after a military raid on a compound in the central Gaza Strip by the Israel Defense Forces, the military said in a statement.

The statement said the soldier opened his fire on 17-year-old Mohammed Haji Salah after the teen was wounded in an encounter with Israeli forces.

“The soldier’s actions are a blatant violation of the rules of engagement and are an affront to all civilians in Gaza,” the statement said.

The Israeli military said it was investigating the shooting.

Israel is conducting its own investigations into the shooting and said it would release the video on Thursday.

The United States has condemned the killing and said the Israeli military’s actions had no military value.

Israel has said it will seek a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning the incident and demanding that Hamas cease its rocket fire.

The death of the Palestinian teen comes after Israel struck a Hamas tunnel network and other targets in the coastal strip on Tuesday.

The military said that two rockets from Gaza hit an open area in the southern Gaza Strip overnight.

It said it hit several other targets.

The Hamas-run news agency Wafa said that Israel struck the tunnel network near the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon on Tuesday night and the Palestinian news agency Maan said the attack killed a rocket-launcher and injured another.

The Palestinian news site Al Jazeera reported that Hamas said Israel had hit an area in southern Gaza that had been “reclaimed by the Palestinian resistance” and had been used by Hamas militants.

Israeli troops have fired thousands of rockets at southern Israel since the start of the conflict in the West Bank in 2006.

Israel says Hamas, which controls Gaza, has fired thousands at southern Israeli towns and villages, but that it has killed no civilians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for a ceasefire to end the conflict and called on the Palestinians to resume negotiations.
